hey..just got back from CCAL camp. haven't blogged for a while...the last few weeks have been pretty hectic. im glad its the holidays..time to reflect..reorganise, and get priorities right.

after dance night...i went on a chocolate eating spree simply cus i received much chocolate over the period. so i think because of chocolate my throat felt a bit weird. then the final draw came when my parents took me out to eat mos burger and make contacts. i came down with a fever and sore throat subsequently over the vesak holiday weekend and it was TORRID. the fever made me wanna sleep all day and the sore throat made it difficult to sleep. what kinda torture is that!! drinking water was ultra painful...

so i couldn't go to school on tuesday. and wed was the GP CT. thank God my mum gave me a sweater in the morning. the hall was absolutely freezing and i finished the whole pack of lozenges. )(@#)!@ sore throat. then my nose was runny and it was so hard to complete the paper. that was why i screwed up my application question. i couldn't think for the last 1/2 hour. ughhhh. hope it doesn't turn out too badly.

then there was dance committee meeting after that. it was about establishing our roles in the dance committee..we had a short meeting b4 meeting with the teachers. as boy's ic i was supposed to be in charge of logistics too, whatever that is. hahaha. then when we went to meet the teachers...and their role for me was the same as evelyn chew's! i.e, v pres. hai yo! anyway i conked out halfway during the meeting cus my fever came back. so natalie offered to cab back with me. thanks nat :> i really woulda died on the bus.

so i fell sick again but i recovered by night time cus of my mother. she was really nice throughout this whole period and was sponging me to lower the temperature of my fever. i love my mummy! :D

anyway...for soccer we got 4th. i was kinda disappointed mr low didn't field a full strength team and fielded several reserves...but i guess they really wanted to play badly. furthermore, oliver scored! which was really nice :> and jeffrey scored a stunning free kick...too pro already. i guess at the end of the day mr low was really being fair to the reserves. after training for a year...they really deserved to play :]

rugby finals was kinda sad. 23-0 i think. sigh..poor junli. i think she was really trying her best to make the school cheer...but there was a lack of coordination and all the cheers on the different sides of the field were difficult to hear. cus its open air and hardly anyone is cheering anyway. duno whats wrong with RJ. i think finals have become too normal for them. and ppl refuse to lower their pride a little to cheer for the school. i think cheering really encourages the athletes...and i was really torn being unable to cheer for them cus my throat still hurt. :( hope we can do something about it as 25ths.

anyway as for CCAL camp. only certain activities were fun...the rest were as bad as land expedition in OBS. maybe slightly better. i was quite upset at the start cus i got transferred from Group 4 to 5. argh. i decided not to continue sticking to group 4...didn't wanna create trouble.

the activity of the high rope obstacle course was my most anticipated one and it was the very first activity. i was really excited but IT STARTED RAINING. so i only got to do 1 obstacle course and it was the horizontal log one..the logs were really slippery so u couldn't stand up on them and the ropes at the side had to be grabbed in order for one to stand up. and my shirt got really dirty and brown...but it was quite fun. just that the excitement lasted for too short a time :(

at night it was bad cus our tent had 6 ppl. super squeezy and we were sleeping on a slope so i kept rolling down to ivan. couldn't sleep properly and the soil was really hard. the next day was quite okay cus the coastal trekking was pretty fun. the low elements b4 that were cool and jumping from rock to rock was pretty exciting.

kayaking was quite fun too cus it just rained and the sun was hidden. so we had really good weather. i paired up with dawn cus i didn't have a partner in my subgroup -_- i was ostracised!!! anyway i sat behind cus im heavier. it was pretty tiring!!!!!! now i know why canoeists have to train so much...

the rest of the activities of rafting, wakatobe jungle trail weren't exactly my cup of tea. the sun was SCORCHING while building the raft and some guy took my bottle and emptied it and FILLED IT WITH SEA WATER to cool his raft. piangggggggg. and wakatobe jungle trail was just boringg..

oh well, by the end of the camp i had learnt some invaluable lessons on leadership and i really admire jason's leadership abilites. i think he should be a councillor instead of me...sigh. i was super slack the whole camp and lethargic. maybe i was sore over the fact i transferred group. :(

during the camp several amusing things happened. i shall not mention them to protect the sovereignity of the singles club :>

i was really tired when i got back to singapore....several ppl were going to chomp chomp to feast but i couldn't bear the thought of lugging my gigantic heavy bags there. so i got my father to pick me up from school :] thank God for himmmm. and the bed felt so wonderful that night. i told jem, and he agreed, that sometimes we just need to have these kinda camps to realise how wonderful our lives are :)

and i also realised how much i miss some ppl. sigh i get quite upset when my expectations aren't met sometimes..but now i understand...thanks for explaining. have a safe trip :]
